Who We Are

VoiceThread is an EdTech company of about 25 people serving roughly 350 colleges, universities, and school systems. Our platform makes voice and video conversation easy for instructors and students, and we count many of the world’s best institutions among our long-term customers. After 18 years in the market, we have an established product, an established brand, and a defined sales motion. We need someone to run that motion.

What You'll Do

This is a hands-on, sales execution role with the potential for career growth and external visibility for the successful candidate. We are looking for a self-starting, team player to join our team to expand our pipeline, manage our inbound leads, expand existing relationships, generate important new sales, and to close business. Our pricing, partnership direction, and product roadmap are set, you will work to grow our customers around it.

Your day-to-day will include:

• Finding and securing new sales with universities, schools, and districts that align with our mission
\n
• Running discovery calls, demos, and proposals on inbound leads and outbound targets
\n
• Managing expansion efforts of existing institutional customers
\n
• Building and executing outbound campaigns into defined target segments (state university systems, consortia, prior pilot accounts, whitespace inside existing systems)
\n
• Maintaining accurate HubSpot pipeline data and providing clear updated weekly forecasts
\n
• Coordinating with our training, support, and integrations leads to move technical and faculty-side requirements through the pipeline
\n
• Processing MSAs, Order Forms, and renewals through to closed-won and handoff to billing
\n
• Hitting quarterly new and expansion revenue targets
\n

Who You Are

\n
• You have done this job before, or one very close to it, and you are looking for a role where you can put your head down and execute. Specifically, you have:3 to 5 years of B2B SaaS sales experience, with at least some of it selling into higher education
\n
• A demonstrated track record of hitting quota
\n
• Strong HubSpot skills, or comparable CRM proficiency you can transfer quickly
\n
• Clear written and verbal communication, with the discipline to keep notes, send recaps, and follow up without being chased
\n
• A bachelor's degree, though we care far more about your sales record
\n

It's a bonus if you have

\n
• Direct experience selling instructional technology or LMS-adjacent products to colleges and universities
\n
• Familiarity with Canvas, Blackboard, D2L, or Moodle integration conversations
\n
• A book of business where renewals were a substantial part of your number
\n

What Success Looks Like

\n
• In your first year, success is measurable, not strategic:Close your assigned new and expansion ARR target
\n
• Maintain pipeline coverage at the ratio we set (typically 3x of quarterly target)
\n
• Keep HubSpot data current and accurate week over week
\n
• Close routine renewals and small new-logo deals without escalation
\n
